Presentation

From 21 to 24 November, Bilbao will host a series of conferences dedicated to exploring new spaces for economic activities in cities. This event will bring together urban planners and professionals from the sector to analyse the transformations that are redefining the urban environment in a context of rapid social, economic and technological evolution. In addition, it will host the annual meetings of the European Council of Spatial Planners – Conseil Européen des Urbanistes

The main focus of these conferences is to understand how spaces dedicated to economic activities are changing within cities, adapting to new ways of living and working, commerce and production. In a world where globalisation and digitalisation are transforming urban dynamics, cities must adapt to new economic challenges. (ECTP-CEU), the Spanish Association of Urban Planning Technicians (AETU) and the Union of Groups of Urban Architects (UAAU).

Bilbao, known for its capacity for urban renewal and its commitment to innovation, will be the setting for reflecting on the future of cities and the challenges they face. During these sessions, local and international projects and experiences will be presented, and discussions will be held on how to efficiently integrate economic spaces into urban planning, and how these influence fundamental aspects such as housing, transport and urban services.
